It occasionally happens that people are born with two heads. This medical condition is known as Polycephaly or simply, multi-headness. The thought that giants are real shouldn’t be surprising, considering that people of extreme heights can be found in modern times. Illinois giant Robert Pershing Wadlow was the tallest man in the world. On June 27, 1940 (eighteen days before his death), he was measured at 8 ft 11.1 in (2.72 m) by physicians C.M. Charles and Cyril MacBryde of Washington University in St. Louis. Louis.
Knowledge of the Patagonian giants was first brought to light in the 1520s, when Ferdinand Magellan and his crew saw these enormous beings while exploring the coastline of South America en route to their circumnavigation.
Antonio Pigafetta, one of the few survivors of the expedition and a chronicler of Magellan’s expedition, wrote in his account of encountering natives twice the height of a normal person:
“One day, suddenly, we saw a naked man of giant stature on the shore of the harbor, dancing, singing and throwing dust on his head.
The Captain General [i.e. Magellan] sent one of our men to the giant to perform the same actions as a sign of peace. This done, the man led the giant to an islet where the captain-general was waiting. When the giant was in the presence of the captain-general and in our presence, he was greatly amazed and made signs with his finger raised upwards, believing that we had come from heaven. He was so tall that we only reached our waist, and he was well proportioned…”
Who was Kap Dwa?
When the Spaniards returned from their travels, they told what they witnessed, and people in Europe were fascinated by the Patagonian giants.
Many people who hear something about giants doubt that these beings exist. Somehow they forget that Illinois giant Robert Pershing Wadlow was a real individual. When there is a discussion about a giant with two heads, most scoff and think it must be a fake story. This is a natural human reaction, and there is every reason to be cautious when faced with such controversial reports.
It is said that Kap Dwa was a Patagonian giant born with two heads. Kap Dwa’s fate is shrouded in mystery, but there is some information about this little-known giant.
As the story goes, Kap Dwa may have originated somewhere in the jungles of Argentina, South America. Where exactly is unknown. In 1673, Kap Dwa was found and captured by Spanish sailors. Seeing a giant person with two heads terrified the Spaniards. Kap Dwa, who was reportedly over 3.6 meters tall, was tied to the mainmast. As they tried to escape, the Spaniards killed Kap Dwa with a spear.
Now this single version of the story. Another version told by Robert Gerber, owner of The Antique Man Ltd in Baltimore, reports that Kap Dwa was already dead when the Spaniards found him ashore with a heavy spear in his chest.
What later happened to Kap Dwa is a bit confusing. Apparently, her mummified body was displayed in various museums across the United States and the United Kingdom for nearly 45 years before being purchased in 1959 by Lord Thomas Howard. Today, his remains form part of a Bob’s Side Show collection at The Antique Man Ltd, owned by Robert Gerber and his wife.
Was Kap Dwa a real Patagonian giant?
Whether or not Kap Dwa’s remains are authentic is still a matter of debate. Some are convinced that his mummified body is an elaborate forgery, but many think he was a real Patagonian giant.
Rumor has it that two doctors examined Kap Dwa’s remains in the 1930s and found no evidence that his body was the product of a hoax. However, with such controversial mummies, one should never jump to conclusions. Kap Dwa’s remains deserve to be properly investigated and their DNA tested. Only then will the world know the truth about his identity, and we can confirm whether the two-headed mummified Patagonian giant is a made-up hoax or not.
At the moment there is simply too little reliable information to allow us to make a judgment about the controversial story of Kap Dwa.
